PROTEIN TRUFFLES

Protein truffles are bite-sized treats packed with protein and other nutritious ingredients. They typically contain ingredients like protein powder, nut butter, oats, and natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup. These truffles are often coated in cocoa powder, shredded coconut, or chopped nuts for extra flavor and texture.

Allergens commonly found in protein truffles may include nuts (if using nut butter or nuts as ingredients), dairy (if using whey protein or milk chocolate), and soy (if using soy-based protein powder). Here's a basic recipe for homemade protein truffles:

Ingredients:
- 1 cup oats
- 1/2 cup protein powder (any flavor of your choice)
- 1/2 cup nut butter (peanut butter, almond butter, etc.)
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Optional coatings: cocoa powder, shredded coconut, chopped nuts, etc.

Instructions:
1. In a food processor, combine oats, protein powder, nut butter, honey or maple syrup, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Pulse until the mixture comes together and forms a dough-like consistency.
2. If the mixture seems too dry, you can add a splash of water or milk to help bind it together.
3. Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of the mixture and roll them into balls using your hands.
4. Roll each truffle in your desired coating, such as cocoa powder, shredded coconut, or chopped nuts, until evenly coated.
5. Place the coated truffles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
6. Once all the truffles are coated, refrigerate them for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
7. Once chilled, the protein truffles are ready to be enjoyed! Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
